Website: https://urgent-osa.nsysu.edu.tw/login

To prevent the spread of dengue fever (including cases of imported dengue fever) and precautions on campus
A.
According to the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Ministry of
Health and Welfare's “Dengue / Chikungunya Fever Prevention Guidelines”,
the incubation period of dengue fever is approximately 3–14 days. A patient is
considered infectious from the first day before the onset of symptoms to the fifth
day after (also known as the viremic period). During this period, if the
infected person is bitten by a mosquito, the virus may be transmitted to
others. To reduce the risk of imported cases spreading the virus, all
departments and international students are requested to strictly follow the
measures below:
I.
Self-health monitoring after entry
1.
For 14 days after arrival, students should intensify self-health
monitoring.
2.
If any suspicious symptoms occur (e.g., fever, headache, retro-orbital
pain, muscle pain, joint pain, bone pain, rash, etc.), the student should
report to the school immediately and seek medical attention.
3.
Even if the NS1 rapid test result is negative, the individual may still be
in the viremic period, and should continue self-health management for 14 days.
II.
Self-Health
Management After a Negative NS1 Rapid Test
1.
During
the viremic period, avoid mosquito bites by taking mosquito prevention measures
(e.g., using mosquito nets, applying repellents which approved by the health
authorities).
2.
Minimize
outdoor activities and continue daily self-health monitoring for 14 days.
3.
If
any suspected symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately, and notify
your department or use the Online Self-Health Reporting System for reporting to
ensure proper care and follow-up.
Self-Health
Reporting System Website: https://urgent-osa.nsysu.edu.tw/login
III.
Campus
Environmental Management
1.
All
departments should increase the frequency of campus environmental
inspections.
2.
Ensure
the removal of mosquito breeding sources to reduce the density
of vector mosquitoes and avoid transmission in campus.
3.
Strengthen contact and
report
with health authorities to properly manage suspected cases.
IV.
Personal
Protection and Health Management
1.
Faculty,
staff, and students are advised to wear long-sleeved clothing and long
pants when going outdoors, and use mosquito repellents
containing DEET or Picaridin which
both approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
2.
Use
mosquito nets at night to avoid being bitten.
3.
If
any suspicious dengue fever symptoms appear, seek medical
attention immediately and inform the doctor of your travel
history. Cooperate with your doctor about rapid testing and
necessary reporting to facilitate early diagnosis and prevention.
