Pursuant to Article 18, Paragraph 1, Item 1 of the Tobacco Harm Prevention
Act, smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor and
outdoor areas of educational institutions.
🚭This regulation
aims not only to comply with legal requirements but more importantly to
maintain a smoke-free, safe, and healthy campus environment.
The Tobacco Harm
Prevention Act also stipulates: The use of all tobacco-like products, including e-cigarettes, is
comprehensively prohibited.
🌟Smoking carries multiple
adverse effects:
1. Harm to personal health: Smoking causes long-term
damage to your lungs and cardiovascular system, increasing your risk of cancer.
2. Impact on others' health (secondhand smoke): Your smoking exposes roommates and nearby students to secondhand smoke,
severely compromising their health rights.
3. Potential fire hazards: Cigarette butts that are
not fully extinguished can easily cause fires, endangering the lives and
property of all residents.
🌟 If you wish to quit
smoking, the Health Center sincerely invites you to utilize professional
resources both on and off campus:
² Smoking Cessation Counseling: Visit the Health Center during office hours for nurses to provide
relevant cessation information.
²
Professional
Clinic Referrals: The Health
Center can assist with referrals to smoking cessation clinics or pharmacies.
Utilizing cessation aids
(e.g., nicotine patches, lozenges, or non-nicotine
medications) significantly increases success rates.
² Psychological Support: Smoking is an addictive behavior. If you find quitting challenging, you
may also consult the Counseling and Health Promotion Office (Counseling Center)
under the Office of Student Affairs.
They can help you manage stressors and
emotional distress during withdrawal.
Finally, please note that our campus is a
smoke-free environment.
Smoking is prohibited for individuals under
the age of 20.
